Academic Affairs
Committee Head: Bethanie Hackett
Meeting Time: Friday at 5:30 pm in the HCC
The Academic Affairs committee works on university academic issues, requirements and developments. This committee has one liaison on University Academic Affairs Committee (UAAC) and University Faculty Council (UFC). Last year the committee worked on financial aid and academic advising.
This year the committee is working on currently on the academic advising form.
University and Community Relations
Committee Head: Brenna Pope
Meeting Time: Monday at 7:00 pm in the Capital Room of the CRUC
The University and Community Relations committee works on physical infrastructure issues, such as residence halls, campus grounds, and student services provided by the University. This committee has one liaison on Town and Gown committee, Fredericksburg City Council, and Faculty Focused Advisory groups. Last year the committee worked on dining and safety on campus.
This year the committee is working on currently the UMW electric scooters policies, Alvey Parking Deck, SGA Senate Meeting minutes, UMW bathrooms, and UMW dining.

Elections, Appointments, and Ethics
Committee Head: Remi Newhart
Meeting Time: As needed
The Elections, Appointments, and Ethics committee works on administering and overseeing campus wide elections of all elected members of the SGA, abiding to the UEC Handbook, confirming all appointees of the SGA President and Senate President, creating and maintaining the SGA Code of Ethics, and creating and maintaining the SGA Code of Ethics. This committee also hears petitions for removal of any elected or appointed member of the SGA and investigates allegations of misconduct, misuse, corruption and election violations within the SGA or affiliate organizations. Last year the committee worked on updating Code of Ethics and Bylaws of the Senate.
This year the committee is working on currently updating the Bylaws of the Senate.
Student Life and Engagement
Committee Head: Hank Leighty
Meeting Time: Friday at 1:30 pm at the HCC
The Student Life and Engagement committee works on monitoring and reviewing policies and procedures concerning the quality of student life, addresses and promotes non-academic concerns as it relates to campus life (dining, parking, residence halls, athletics, activities, mental health, wellness), work with clubs and programming organizations to promote students engagement on campus, and This committee also works on promote student civic engagement on campus. Last year the committee worked on beautification of Ball Circle and facilities
This year the committee is working on currently the beautification of Ball Circle, period product drive, and narcan restock.
